This oil well pumps out 400 to 500 barrels of oil each day. It was already there when the school was built in 1928 and generates about $300,000 for the school’s general fund each year.

The Walter Pyramid, located on on the campus of Long Beach State University, is one of 3 true Pyramid buildings in the U.S. The other two are in Las Vegas and Memphis, TN. The Walter Pyramid is 18 stories tall and houses athletic facilities for the school. More information here.
