Ruins of the Third Largest Roman Amphitheatre
Archaeologists in the Spanish city of Cordoba have uncovered beneath the university’s old veterinary faculty Europe’s biggest Roman amphitheatre after the Coliseum. The Spanish amphitheatre is some 10 meters narrower than the Colosseum, and in area is the third largest of its type known (Carthage is #2 to Rome’s Colosseum).
