Sad to see a place that apparently provided a lot of warm memories to people fall in such disrepair. I noticed a waterslide park next to it. Is that park still in operation?

Shame to see the old Sea-Arama marine park in such condition. Makes me somebody came in and restored it either as a museum or a water park.

The waterpark shown is called Jungle Surf and yes it is open.
Its a great “mom and pop” type of place.
Too bad Sea-Arama is closed, it would be a great family place I imagine.

checked this out a couple weeks ago, can tell it use to be a spectacular structure, and it’s still very beautiful in a decrepit dying way. So sad.

I went by while I was in town this weekend, and it has been demolished. :( It was so fun when we were kids. we lived very close and got season passes, so we went all summer back in the 80’s. I hated seeing it close and become so delapidated. It was so much fun. :( boo.

I use to go there when I was a child with my mom and brother. My favorite shows were of the dolphin’s and orca’s. Then there was the macaw’s and the cockatoo’s showings. Then over towards the bayou area were the stunt waterskier’s. Sea Arama’s snackbar area had the best hotdogs! God I miss the place. I understand Tilman Fertitta bought the property. I, like others, was hoping he would restore the aquarium amusement park instead of tearing it down. The jungle surf next to it is indeed still open and a very fun spot to enjoy the day out. Part of my family lived out towards the golf course and it was just a short ways to visit. It became a major part of my summer life with good memories. Maybe something of family entertainment will replace the aquarium, hopefully, with all of Galveston’s tourism yearly.

I really miss this place. Had many fond memories as kid going there! Much like Astroworld, it was an escape to the Atari or another rainy day.
I am 34 now and have vivid memories of the place and I loved getting the Killer whale souvenirs each time.
What was the physical address? I would like to just go there and take pics and relive some nostalgia.

I actually went in that place last year. It was weird, lots of gravel on the floor, and a hobo was there.
