The Trestle Electromagnetic Pulse Simulator
The largest wood-and-glue laminated structure in the world located at Kirtland Airforce Base in New Mexico.
Aircraft tested here are subjected to up to 10 million volts of electricity to simulate the effects of a nuclear explosion and assess the “hardness” of electrical and electronic equipment to the EMP pulse generated by a nuclear burst.
See a photo of a B-52 bomber on the platform and read more about the trestle here.

The AFB in Albuquerque is “Kirtland”, with a “t”; not “Kirkland” with a “k”. Thought you might like to know.
